New hair colour!

Okay, no new hair color YET... but i'm contemplating.
I'm kind of stuck in between dark and light. My hair right now is medium
to dark brown. I used a Japanese hair dye called PALTY - Milk Tea Tart
and as delicious as that sounds, it didn't do crap for my hair, and now
my hair is EXTRA boring. Anyway I'm planning on either going BLUE BLACK
like jet black, or lighter, not quite blonde, but almost there.
I'm asian and i've had blonde hair FIVE times throughout high school, believe
it or not... I was that bored -__-; but i don't want to do blonde cuz of work
and it's too flamboyant for me right now... i don't know.
What do you guys think?

So i think you should do something kinky and cool like blue.

I know it's a bit dramatic, but I like how the colour is so soft and subtle.
To achieve this color is easy actually, I've had it before on the bottom
of my hair, but I don't know about the WHOLE head.

Just a F.Y.I: to achieve a subtle pink colour, make sure to have light
hair color (i.e. blonde, light brown, golden blonde, etc.) use a 'COOLING'
colour (ex. auburn, strawberry blonde, ash brown etc. *cooling means
colours that DON'T have an orange tint, and instead, a faded hue*)
Use a dye that has a cooling colour shade of RED. (anything that isn't BRIGHT, too red, or orangy is okay.) The usual wait time for dye to set
in is 30minutes instead of waiting 30, you keep it in for 15-20, so that
the red will not set in all the way, but the color will still be applied.

How this works: Because the lighter shade of the BLONDE overpowers the
darker red shade, by keeping the dye in for half the time, it will cause the
colour (as seen on the BOX) to underdevelop, therefore giving the dye a
weaker effect on your hair. The result is a light PINK shade, because the
dyes that have red colour in them have a hue developing extract, which
basically means it goes through "STAGES" of red while developing on your
hair, it usually takes more time to reach the exact colour you see on the
box cover. (The dye, however, is FULLY developed in the bottle
in about 5 minutes prior to mixing it, so you want to make sure to let the
colour SET before applying to your hair.) So the less time, the less effect
of RED it has on your hair.

Why it works: It works REGARDLESS of the tint of red, actually. Because
red is a colour that attracts more than one hue (pink, orange, yellow, etc.)
it takes alot of care and precaution. That's why red hair FADES the fastest.
When red hair dye fades, usually it gives off an auburn, light brown colour.
That's why you want to have a light color underneath before you do it, so
that the red can set in with the light colour. It does NOT turn your hair color
ORANGE, even though you would think that because RED+YELLOW, as long
as you buy a dye that DOES NOT have an orange tint, than it won't turn
orange. If you do it right, you can get natural looking PURPLE, by using
a wine red colour or burgundy, using the same technique, or even soft green
by using blue black hair dye and setting it in for shorter time.
(shorter time= fades faster. *all these colours require BLONDE or light
hair to begin with though, or else, IT CANT WORK.)
