Coon tails...?O_O
Okay so I was wondering o_o;;.. How do you make coon tails?-_-;; Most people know what I mean right..? If not: ![]() Those striped thingies in her hair O_o;;.. I got like.. No Idea how to do them.. I don't want to try extensions though x_x;;... So yeah.. Anyone knows how to make them or...?><.. Edit: If this doesn't belong here, feel free to delete it or move it Mod-San^^. And one more thing. It isn't the tail of a racoon or something XD.. ~LFA |
In most cases its a clip-in hair strip. Ive never heard of anyone physically dying that into their hair, it would be very difficult and not as smooth and clear.
You can buy them on ebay pretty cheaply, and i imagine they can be found in some hair accessory beauty supply type stores. i'm not sure, but i thought you just used foil, to seprate the parts you wanted to dye or w/e, like you do with highlights.. but it wouldn't be as clean looking i guess.

the hair dye is usually liquid and will drip downwards. its really difficult to do, im not sure how they do it professionally, but i tried doing it once a few yrs ago on my own hair and it didnt work. looked like id made a mistake dying it...lol |
I have always wondered how people did this. >.<; |
The hard way;
You spread the hair out thinly on plastic wrap or foil, and spread dye *paste* (not liquid, because it runs!) over the sections you want to dye. Then put another sheet of plastic wrap over the top and roll them together - you want to make sure that the hair is always very thin between the two sheets. You can also put wax on the parts you do not want dyed to be safe and keep the line straight. You need to keep the hair horizontal as the dye takes to avoid running, so it`s best to stay lying down with the hair stretched out. The easy way; Use clip on hair. |

I know that it has been a while since you guys posted but anyway, I tried it out, with the explanation Nyororin said, it did turn out good -nods- but I only did one stripe for now, because if I did more, I wouldn't have the patience to stay still -laughter- so yeah it turned out a bit good, its like, blonde blue blonde blue blonde blue.^^ will post a pic later of how it looks -thumbs up- |
You could also put rubber bands on it. Like Small rubber bands and put them pretty tight, then the color wont get in there ^^. Heres a wierd paint pic to explain it:
![]() I know in works on clothes anyway. havn't tried it but it's an idea ^^ |
yeah i think you can use rubber bands then put conditioner on every other part of the hair then color the other parts you want so if it drips into the conditioner then it will prevent it from going through
does it make sense?:confused: |
Tape. :3
I was obsessed with them a while back. Don't have them, though. |
