Smile Making your own clothes? OwO - 06-06-2008, 10:39 PM

Ok, so I live in England. There aren't many good clothes shops where I live and I'm too impatient and poor to order J-style clothes online. So I'm making my own clothes!

I prefer the visual Kei style.

So far I've gotten two dress shirts, a black and white one.
On the white one I have sewn black ribbon around the collar, cuffs and bottom. It looks nice with a neck sash-cravat thing.
Hmm.

The black one is now my favourite piece of clothing I own. I sewed white fluff to the collar and I sewed a white fluffy heart to the back. ^o^
I looooooove wearing it, I get some funny looks because people here dress like well normally?

Could anyone give me anymore ideas?
Like I dunno skirts and stuff?

I do want to get some over-knee socks and sew a ribbon to the top of them.

Do you make clothes?
Or just edit shirts and stuff?

I started doing this because I enjoyed sewing a Uchiha sign to the back of a shirt I was using for cosplay.

Hmmm...maybe put some patches/badges, safety pins and bits of material, in a cross like design or something like it..
I got this vest from the op shop and did that, minus the material, and its doesnt look that bad..
I need to start making my own clothing since theres nothing here in Australia that deals with VK clothing, nor for the plus size girl who likes dark stuff, lol.

These clothings sound like some of the stuff you find in Hot Topic...

you see those birds outside your window? they're stalking you.

I may not be better than you, but you are no better than me.

May you have all you need, and may you never want what you don't need.

I make and modify a lot of my clothes. One of the easiest ideas I can think of would be the VK pants that are open at the knee, with the bottom of the pant leg held up by straps. For that, you just cut a section out of each pant leg and hem the raw edges (if you use jeans, you could just sew along the edge and allow it to fray). Then, using the material you cut out, make straps and attach. I just sew mine on, but you could use buttons, snaps, or velcro to make the pant legs removable.

True, very true. Good ideas. I also make my own VK gear and so does my bandmate. I am currently making a VK jacket.
