This obsession is called deco-den aka hime-den and it is so popular that it has a magazine and websites dedicated to cabochons for the followers to deco their items.

I think it\'d be fun to spend five days just decorating something with beads, then throw it away because it looked so "glittery". XD I\'d use my tweezars...

ive done this before to my phone.
i bought some phone stickers that had lil diamaties on and i stuck them onto my phone and they just peeled off within a week! |
The prices to have it done are truly outrageous. There is a small shop near me that specializes in decorating items, and they often send out flyers that have me choking. I`m going to guess that the reason most people do it themselves is because it does cost so much.
I really think it`s just gaudy and seriously overdone. An accent is one thing, but I`ve seen so many fake flowers, plastic desserts and mini-teddy bears on a single phone that it can`t even be opened properly. And that`s not the exception - the little crystals only style is. |
i got my sis to do this kinda stuff to my phone and mp3 player

you could do something else altogether.
what i did when my mp3 player got really scratched up was:
i got a couple free stickers from zumies and cut them into small triangle-looking shapes, then stuck the pieces over it to look like one of those "skins" you put on electronics. it looks really cool if you mix colors and overlap. it doesn\'t cost money and you can do it yourself :vsign: |
That\'s so funny, there was a whole thing on TV about this last night. They rhinestone-ified a jinriki, a statue of hachiko, and a mural of mt fuji in a bath house. It was pretty bad; these girls are the epitomy of "gyaru" subculture. It\'s repulsive... but also fascinating. Why are these girls so obsessed with this? Why do they scream "kawaiiiii" at something that, to the rest of us, is grotesque? I\'m REALLY curious.
