Loose socks - still popular?

Are loose socks still popular among Japanese school girls? I've been out of the loop for quite some time and was just curious. If no longer worn, what do they use to spruce up their uniforms?

Even on the girls in Shibuya and Harajuku, loose socks are gone.

Moderately loose socks are normal. The huge ones aren`t all that popular anymore... But I find it MUCH much much rarer to see a girl with fitted socks.

So what if it's out of fashion? Since everyone else is NOT wearing it, you can wear it and make yourself have style. get it? XD
