Pants

Alrighty do you guys think these pants are "girly"?

http://www.discountdance.com/image/250x300/r9104.jpg

I was showing them to my mom, cause I plan on getting them for dancing...and she was like...........those are so girly!!!!!! and like......freaked out >_> anyways...I guess your opinion really doesn't matter to me, I just wanted to see if anyone else thought they were girly

yuujirou 09-03-2009 06:42 PM

i wouldn't say girly.... as 'womanly' just seems more appropriate a word..

and you can wear them if you want too xD
but i can prolly assure you that you'd be mistaken for a homosmexual, lolz

but again and again and again xDD

To each his own fancy x]

seiki 09-03-2009 06:43 PM

The only man that would wear those is mc hammer or aladinlol.

If our opinions don't matter then why are you asking for them?

Yes, I would say these are not meant to be worn by men.

Because........I have nothing else to do??

Why do you say that though?...not just because a girl is wearing them, right??

Those are women's skorts, basically. Not intended for male users.

well it's more than just who model the clothes xDD
you have look at the cut of the clothes~
guy pants have more room for the crotch and a flatter butt, and i believe the thighs are wider too

girl pants obviously have no room down there, and the butt part aims to push up the butt XD

it's all in the cut
and how it forms around your body

not just whose modeling it

seiki 09-03-2009 06:59 PM

okay you are correct aladin and mc hammer would not have worn those their pants were connected in the center and made for guys.

actually... i was just looking at the way the legs are shaped... and the three styles are so distinct.... i have no idea how anyone would ever relate them...

savvy?

Yuusuke 09-03-2009 07:06 PM

well

"figure" meaning in giving me some kind of shape. (womanly)

IcewindDude 09-03-2009 07:28 PM

In my opinion, definitely for women. For a guy, something similar would more likely be longer and probably tighten off at the ankles. In dance, flare and fluff around the legs are supposed to accent the lightness and grace of a woman. Men are usually accented by strength and agility, so something that "stays" with you better and covers more of the legs would be more the norm.

However, like others have said, to each his own :D . If you like it, who are we to argue?

LOL dude, the pants you wear aren't going to change your figure

@Icewind, I don't know if you dance, but where I dance (if you do dance, I can almost garuntee wherever you dance isn't quite like over here) it's not really like that at all...lightness and grace is good for everyone, male and female, I don't see many people going for the strong look where we dance =\

thcuteness 09-03-2009 08:17 PM

..... i would say those are quite girly :/

If I were a girl I wouldn't want to dance with a boy in pants like that. Think about your partner. She wants a man who looks masculine, not one wearing women's clothes.

I'm sorry, but you are wrong there....but I don't blame you for being wrong...I think the only way to know how these dances are, is to go to them...but believe me at our dances, what you have said is not true...anyways....I don't know why I posted this in the first place :S I mean, where I dance, it's perfectly normal for guys to wear skirts.

Columbine 09-03-2009 08:24 PM

No idea about dance, but yes, they seem girly to me. And regardless of the cut or complaints if a place is selling a garment using a female model, then it's an item generally intended to be sold to women. unless it's emblazoned with 'unisex' (i don't know, i haven't seen the site), then basically it's women's clothing. Whether you want to stick within those norms is up to you.

vis men's bell-bottoms. If you can't find some to buy, just do it 1960's style. Buy a pair of men's jeans and adapt the bottoms to make your own. It's dead easy. Just whack in a couple of slits, sew in some triangles of cloth. Badda-boom, bell bottoms.

So lots of guys where women's clothes at your dances?

These days, that's kind of changed. Woman are kinda of both ways with looking masculine or looking alittle more femine.

a perfect example is my high school XD

a lot of guys dress feminately and somehow they get all of the girls.

MMM 09-03-2009 08:27 PM

When I said "masculine" I didn't mean "macho" I meant "not wearing women's clothes".

I wouldn't say they wear women's clothes, but yes, they do wear what would be titled "women's".....I say they don't wear women's clothes because, chances are, they make them themselves....but to me, it really doesn't matter who the clothes were intended for...there's no law (that I'm aware of) that says men have to wear clothing from the Men's section, and women have to wear the clothing from the Women's section

And, I know a lot of girls that get all freaked out when guys wear girl's clothes, but all of the people that I hang out with are really cool with it.....actually, some of them think it's really hot...I don't know why, and that's not my motives...but they do

JayT 09-03-2009 08:36 PM

On occasion I wear womens clothing, except no one can tell.
Being sly is key. It doesnt look obvious at all. Womens clothes fit better on my frame.
Do what you like, it's your life, not JFs.

You asked for opinions and you got them.

If your friends think guys in pants like this are hot, then buy a pair in every color. But i understand why your mom freaked out.

I understand that, MMM. And I wanted opinions...I'm not hurt by anyone's opinion here....I expected most of them actually. And thank you for yours....I think I live in a bit of a different place now

TalnSG 09-04-2009 06:36 PM

I think these would look rather odd on a male, but then they are not even flattering on a female figure. They are going to make you look much shorter than you really are and significantly wider. Not usually two traits one is looking for on a dance floor. And you better have extremely well shaped calf muscles because that is the focal point.

darksyndrem 09-04-2009 07:25 PM

I'm really think you guys assume too much when I say dancing...I can assure you, what I think of when I say dance, is MUCH different than what you would think. I don't perform, it's just for fun, with a bunch of friends...it's not any kind of competition...it doesn't really matter how we look as far as our physical shape (at least with most of us lol)...and there really isn't a focal point....I mean....just...nevermind, I don't know how to explain it =\
