I'm pretty sure I've found one.
I might just get a kimono, geta sandals and a sakura kanzashi ornament for my hair. What about socks, what kind of socks do geisha wear with their wooden sandals? Over and over, over and over, You make me fall for you. Over and over, over and over, I try not to. -Sydnie- |

I know but like Narulolita said they're seperated at the big toe. Are there special socks I can buy?
EDIT: Nevermind, they're tabi socks, found them on eBay. Over and over, over and over, You make me fall for you. Over and over, over and over, I try not to. -Sydnie- |

Geisha Costume -

Well, a true kimono might be a bit outta your price range so you can always get some material from a fabric store and just piece it together yourself. I'm gonna cosplay as a Geisha at YasumiCon next August when it comes to Miami so that's what I'm doing. The only thing I won't be able make, I think, would be the zori shoes. I still have to make my hair ornaments and buy a wig and style it. My hair is only just past my shoulders and grows SUPER FEAKIN SLOW so I don't think it would be long enough to style my real hair. My b-day is in a week so I might get a digital camera and I'll take pictures of my costume and post it. Let me know how it comes out!

A Geish is a majior part of tradition in Japans history. They are entertainers, who include performing various Japanese arts like classical music and dance. Any other japanese questions?

Hi there I have got a book on Geishas and will give you hand by listing some of the things you may need (with comprimises of course )
Tabi - socks with big toe separated Obi- Sash worn aroung the kimono Obi-Jime Thin braid worn around the Obi Geta- Wooden clogs worn by Geisha Okobo- High heeled clogs worn by apprentice Geisha (Maiko) Kanzashi- Hair pins worn by Geisha Katsura- Wig (could come in handy if you haven't got long hair) This is a rough outline of things you could wear making comprise during the way with the style of the kimono could be scaled down it to something simple but just as striking the makeup I suggest you go to the nearest cosmetics store and ask for the white fondation, red lipstick (the less glossy lookinhg the better) black eyeliner and purple eye shadow to be but only in a line (like the eyeliner) above the eye Hope this helps |
