japanese fashion vs. western fashion
which fashion style do u think excels, japanese or western? i'd personally go for japanese since u'd find the most unique nd pretty styles! however if u want overall charisma, western fashion wud move ahead in tht department! wht do y'all think?
|
I'd say it's very difficult to put those two styles up against eachother. >_>
It depends on which area of the fashion you want to be jugded. I prefer the western 'pop'-style and the asian 'cute/punk/rock'-style. ^^v |
Do you mean kimonos vs. cowboy hats?

I'd have to go with cowboy hats :mtongue: |
cowboy hats and kimonos????.....how about someone wearing a kimono with acow boy hat....:p (I'm going get shot for posting this....*runs away before anyone notices me*)
|
i've actually noticed one thing, nd tht is the physique differences u'll find between the two cultural fashions! u wudn't really find a j-rock artist with a muscular bulky physique, however lukin' at western icons, u'd find sum really cool muscular bodies! but it totally depends on onez opinion if they prefer skinny over bulky or vice versa!

Does it really need to be pointed out that the majority of Japanese fashion (both contemporary and the Harajuku stuff) derives directly from American and European styles?
I believe that may be what MMM was trying to articulate... |

japanese fashion >.>"
it's just so much sexier <33 =DD .. in their own...modest and adorable way >.>" |
yeah,
people over here are starting to get in to japanese fashion more !
i like to mix them ! |
I hope people don't think Japan is the land of Visual Kei and Lolita. Those styles are incredibly rare in Japan, most people wear ordinary things just like everyone else. People who wear Visual and Lolita are outcasts just like Punk and Goth in the UK and America, and they are a minority like here.
I like both styles of dress, but a lot of Japanese Visual and Lolita styles are influenced by UK Punk and Goth. |
My brother went to Japan and he said it kind of felt like being in an anime show, he said many Japanese people dressed pretty stylishly, and some had really crazy hairstyles, etc. Though I think this is more popular with the younger ones (i.e. ages 16-25 perhaps?) but I definitely agree with the clothes. He brought home a pair of shoes to me from Japan and they look pretty cool. Sleek, moderate yet a tint of stylishness.
NOTE: My brother is 27, he was 26 when he went to Japan, on business mostly, and the last time he watched Anime was like in the 80's :P Stuff like Grandizer, Mazinger and some show about a ninja called Suzuki with a friend called Jambo or something. |

but some how i kind of new that ! oh,well everyone that i meet in the u.s. thinks we're weired 2 lol ! |
"western?"
Hmmm.... I've seen tanktops, shorts and a pair of burkenstocks. I've seen tight mild bellbottom pants with a nice cotton shirt and sandals. I've seen baggy pants, big shirts, reeboks or nike's or BK's or whatever shoe that is "in". I've seen the "cowboy" look. I've even seen the "slutty" look on decent women. so which of the "western" fashion are you talking about? As for the Japanese fashion, I like the traditional Kimonos, and yukatas. |

I like japanese fashion.
It is a similar to western but it has a feeling of japanese. A japanese looks that it has every detail well done, therefore it become a stylish person. But, usually a japanese looks to europe and america style from tv and tries to imitate it and add japanese thing to it, therefore it becomes a japanese-western style. Is confused. @_@; |
Perhaps i like Japanese fashion better, maybe because of the cuteness present in their culture. Those cute hairs, outfits,et. They are cool! Anyhow, western fashion are also cool, which fits me better. I Japan's fashion but it doesnt love me, western fashion has its arms open for me.
