Heh, if it's 18 and I do go to Japan this summer as I'm hoping to, then I'll let you all know what Sake is like ^_^ .

That being said, I have never seen anyone asked for ID at a grocery store or alcohol vendor, so no big deal there... |

Unfortunately, yes. Some idiotic friends of mine seem to go to parties where they do all that, and I overheard that one or two wee stupid enough to drive while intoxicated. Nothing happened, but it's still fairly dangerous to those around you. Some people trust their kids a bit too much and leave their alcohol accessible and they end up regretting it, and some parents just don't care.
