I love udon and I had this kake udon stuff in a resturant.
Does anyone know what kake means??

Yes, I know what it means. It's from the verb 'kakeru', which means 'to pour'. We use this word because in order to make Kake Udon, you must first place the heated and drained udon noodles into the empty bowl and then you pour the hot soup onto the noodles.

I looked at the word kake (bet) and then thought about how that can possibly relate to udon, but then I figured it's kakeru (to pour). Took me about a minute to figure that out :p

I get my udon from the county square market in packs like ramen, but they are refrigerated and already soft. :yhgirl:

I love udon ~!! I get mine at a store called tokyo market :rheart:

I've never had udon but want to try it, would the packeted stuff leave a good first impression or am I better doing to a restaraunt?
