Ramen only needs salt and pepper. With jam? Fuj!

Reading back through this thread I discovered that I am apparently not the picky eater I was as a child. I could not find anything anyone posted that I didn't know a way to make pleasing.

For years my dreaded veggies were brussell sprouts and mushrooms. But it turned out to be the ways they were usually cooked. I am very demanding about my brussell sprouts (tender, braised in vinegar and bacon fat) and the mushrooms better not be soft, preferrably browned in steak drippings with lemon juice or ponzu.

And don;t you dare get sugar anywhere near my grapefruit!!! It must have SALT! But if the grapefruit is not properly ripened (like many of them in grocery stores these days) nothing with make them palatable.

Foods

First post on this forum!!

I hated durian, we ate in Malaysia and it was yuck.

I had a piece of raw squid sushi while in Japan last week. I thought it would be fine (I like raw fish) but I couldn't take it. I managed one of the two pieces, but couldn't eat the other one!

I can't eat capsicum which is annoying because I am normally a pescetarian (I eat no meat but eat seafood) and they tend to but capsicum in all vegetarian food.

Can't think of anything else that I really, really detest.

Creamed anything. Creamed corn. Creamed Asparagus. Creamed green beans. Doesn't matter, it's gross. Aside from that, I'll pretty much eat anything that doesn't try to eat me first, with the exception of some French food. I've tried escargot, and the frog...and it's disgusting. That whole ploy about it "tasting like chicken," I'd rather eat the chicken. And while I love the taste of pork, I've stopped eating it as it really is bad for you, and makes sense considering what they eat...lol.

I started to avoid broccoli ever since I saw worms crawling out from it when I cut it into half. And well, this:

Cricket Soup. Hey, they DO serve this at one part of Korea. It sickens me to no end. Ugh... :coldbear:

You do know that silkworm is a medicine, right?

Having lived in South Korea for years and years, I have never heard of bug cuisine. And this webpage doesn't have any description.
