Trying to learn how to cook Japanese food.

Tried to buy a rice cooker today and they accidentally gave me a slow cooker which looked almost exactly the same. I'm gonna have to take it back while I'm at college tomorrow. But anyhoo...

Anyhoo I'm gonna start trying to make Onigiri so I can take them to college for lunch (I've never had one and really want to try them). What are some good easily available fillings (I'll probably try tuna mayo first since I already have both tuna and mayonnaise) and what should I try after Onigiri to expand my Japanese cooking abilities?

Thanks for any help.

I'm gonna have to try harder my onigiri only turned out mildly of a good consistence and firmness (meaning sometimes they fell apart a bit while eating).
