Which choice of green tea should I choose?

Bancho? Gyokuro? Matcha? not sure which one to choose. I want a green tea for everyday tea. I want to get the highest quality of tea, so what should I look for?

not too savy w/ green tea
but i believe matcha is meant more for cooking
(i like to mix it w/ the rice before i cook it ^_^ )

Matcha is the tea for Japanese tea ceremony. It's not the same thing as green tea.

I prefer genmai cha - not too hard to find, and a great every day tea.

It IS used in cooking and for flavoring often - I was just pointing out its role in the Japanese tea ceremony, and not just cooking.

That is literally what matcha is - powdered tea.
But it`s finely powdered tea leaves, not instant tea.
