What is the best, most healthy type of vegetarian sushi?
Hi everyone! I'm a vegetarian but I want to try sushi because a lot of my friends like sushi and I want to be able to go out to lunch with them when they are in the mood for sushi. I've tried a couple of different vegetable tempura sushis (yam, for example) but I've recently heard tempura sushi rolls are the most fattening/high calorie. What sushi would you recommend for a vegetarian who wants to watch her calorie intake but likes the taste of vegetable tempura?
Thank you! |
IF you like it and can find it in the U.S., natto would be an excellent choice. Extremely high in Niacin among other vitamins (the source of the taste & smell many dislike). I tend to combine in a hand roll with rice, umeboshi (plum) paste, and whatever other veggies are available.

sushi isn't always vegan >.>'''
some itamae like to use katsuo in their shari-su.... katsuo being fish shavings.. and shari-su being the rice vinegar it adds a depth of flavour to the final product but because of that addition... not all sushi is vegan ._.'' |
