Ramen Bath?!

I'm pleasantly surprised that no one has posted this up, yet.

"“The aroma of pepper is said to have the effects of refreshing your mind, warming your burned-out heart and inflaming your passion,” explained a statement by spa complex Hakone Kowakien Yunessun in Hakone, one of Japan’s most popular hot spring resorts."

I'm speechless. I literally wow-ed at the TV screen when they showed this. Different people have different takes on this. What are your comments? A load of melodrama or something to be actually investigated?

I think that either it really is good for your skin and people should do it more because it seems like a fun and weird experience. Or that some guy is using "beauty" as an excuse to to bathe in something besides just water.

I agree. :) I personally haven't really looked into it yet, so my best argument is: "If they're doing it, there must be a good reason why." Resources, money, prestige, culture are all naturally factored in, so their reason must be pretty solid.

Perhaps those living in Japan might have a first-hand account of prior experience. :p

It can't be that disgusting can it? I mean it's not like they can eat the noodles. I mean there are all sorts of weird bathes, might as well add noodle bath to the list. I think that people will always try to find some new thing to help fight aging, but they won't. 5 Weird Baths | Adventure Travel Tips

Simmering in their own solutions brings amusement. :)

Well, "own" here is relative; basking in ramen could be as routine as taking a hot shower. It does, as you say, bring amusement, alongside the many proclaimed benefits. If you think it's disgusting, it's an opinion which I can do nothing about but respect. In any case, I think it's worth trying out something for oneself to better validate one-sided opinions. First-hand experience is, sadly, something many of us lack, that's why I want to count on those living in Japan to exploit those opportunities. :)

Disgustingly good. :)

LOL! Dude, I like your style. :vsign: Good for you on having an open mind!

Brings amusement when one isn't certain to what they are thinking. Anyways conversation is veering. :) But humans being marinated in ramen sounds a bit off. Cannibals await. :)
