Korean BBQ Restaurants in Japan - 06-04-2011, 11:15 PM

I love those BBQ in So-cal that allow all you can eat-specials in Korean BBQ.

I was wondering if Japan, especially Kyusyu has it, as I will be there for Three weeks and willl miss it terribly?
Someone hook me up?

There are many Korean barbecue restaurants in Japan, and a few all-you-can-eat places, but they are quite a bit more expensive than what you might be used to in California.

My favorite Korean barbecue place is Kyukaku, which are located throughout Japan. Their food is good, and a typical meal for two is about 5000 yen ($60).

In Japan it is called "Yakiniku" and it is everywhere, though I wouldn't count on "all you can eat".

kyukaku, not gyukaku?

if it's gyukaku -- they've expanded westward...mostly socal and hawaii ..pretty expensive, but have great specials/happy hours.

but yakiniku is a different animal from korean bbq...especially the buffet style all you can eat. yakiniku is generally more focused on quality cuts rather than quantity.

If Tokyo, go to Korean Town in Okubo just beside Shinjuku. Lots of Korean BBQ there.

Another is in Ginza called the Carne Station. Its a yakiniku but its more Korean than Japanese. The Kimchi there is really good. Its just 1000yen for 1 hour, eat all you can

In Osaka, I have not found any Korean yakiniku though I found a really nice Korean restaurant already.

Also a couple of joints in Ikebukuro. 1,500 all you can eat as well.
