I like it with salmon or classic filled with a salty prune.
An other tasty alternative are onigiri which have rice with special mixed herbs. Check it out here -> http://www.marumiya.co.jp/index.html |

I like onigiri and have attempted to make it once but it kind of fell apart >.>

Did you use short-grain rice? :) It never falls apart because it's sticky. |
I LOVE onigiri... my host mom gave it to me like every other day for school. :)
I had so many types but I mostly had tuna onigiri... The only one I didn't like was a ham onigiri. My host mom's friend worked at a lawson so we got free food like every 2 weeks :D |
maybe tomorow I will be making some onigiri :vsign: I hope mum likes my onigiri, and I hope I like it too:mtongue:

i've used long grain rice before, only cuz i ran out of short grain
it was okay, fell apart but it still tasted good.=D or when my friend and i attempt to make sushi and then we give up, we take out our onigiri moulds and make those instead. XD we're just lazy. |
i have yet to try to make some out of short grain rice .. but i use long grain rice most all the time .. and have little issues making them ...
i am sure there is a difference in the taste of the rice ... so far i haven't used a filling of any kind .. i normally make mine a little smaller then normal ... and just mix salt and seasonings with the rice before i form them into balls... they hold their shape good ... |
