I have the same thing =| my teacher went to Japan for christmas and new year and i didn't do anything for 3 weeks (..the shame) and now i have to learn my Katakana all over because it flew out of my head and i don't remember a thing, and i just can't get the way you create sentences in my head =\

Isn't there like a site where the computer asks you to translate the words it show, or a program.. like Hiragana and Katakana Practice - Real Kana but then with words? =D

Try the Zebra Check Set form J-List -- a wonderful toybox of things from Japan!. It works great for me. It's cheap and it helps with memory retention. Here's a product link for you. Zebra "Check Set" ~ Best for Memory Retention

Try to learn things at night before going to bed, or just after you wake up in the morning.

Lol got the same thing..i study like 5 hours a day..:p tough when i wake up i forgot like 10%><..tough i think im losing a bit of my knowledge everyday...:P*falls off her chair laughing*,,

I'm thinking on doing some extra brain training too :p read that when you wake up you have to draw two cards and remember what cards they are and put them under you pillow. When you go to bed at night you have to try and remember them. When you have gotten it right for a few days in a row, add a card =p
Oh and eat loads more fish.. omega 3, good for the brain right?? :D

Dont think there's any solution on memorization...as long as you have the desire to learn, you could somehow manage to overcome it.

Try to use it everyday, the knowledge you learn. You're talking about Japanese language study, right? Well, just speak Japanese to yourself, to your pets, etc nonstop. Try to think in Japanese. Describe nearby objects in Japanese. As long as you use it, you won't forget it.
