I know　きっと　is translated as "surely, indefinitely, undoubtedly, etc..", but I've noticed it sometimes translates as "maybe"? So, how do you know when きっと is supposed to mean "surely" or "maybe"?

きっと　<< this word contains speakers' wish..

when you use きっと about your own issue , it means strong will.this case "surely"

for instance , きっと明日までには仕事を終わらせます。 << I'll manage to finish my task till tomorrow.

when you use きっと about someone's issue , it means "expectation" this case "maybe"

for example..
彼はきっと仕事を明日までに終わらせてくれるよ。
<< I believe he'll finish his task till tomorrow.

um , I'm not sure whether this explanation is enough ore not..
