Are my translations correct?
Hello everybody. I just started to study Japanese. I am now working on a website that will be published in both English as well as Japanese.
I made some translations into Japanese for the menu of the website. Could you help me a bit by looking if I made any mistakes? If so, please correct me!! HOME 家 ABOUT US 私達について COLLECTION コレクション FRIENDS 友人 MULTIMEDIA マルチメディア IMAGES イメージ VIDEOS ビデオ SHOP 店 WEBSHOP オンライン店 STORE LOCATOR 店のロケータ CONTACT 接触 |
It's pretty good, but 家 is more commonly used for an actual house. Try ホーム.

Being as I don`t know the exact content of the links, I can`t be 100% certain ... But here are some suggestions that stick to the typical pattern.
HOME = ホーム ABOUT US = 会社案内 Collection is fine as is, but depending on what is on the "Friends" page, you may want to change it. 友人 sounds very personal to me, not at all like a professional page. リンク集 is fairly common. Multimedia, Image, and Video are fine. SHOP = 店舗情報 - but then again, I don`t know where the link goes so 店舗 alone may be best. ONLINE SHOP is alright as is, I suppose, but ネットショップ or ネットストア is more common. STORE LOCATOR = 店舗一覧 (if a list) or 店舗検索 (if a search) But if you change nothing else, change CONTACT! CONTACT = 問い合わせ What you have is like physical contact, etc. NOT right in this use at all. |
