Try some Japanese CD's to start off on the basics. Then try more advanced material. You can easily find these kinds of Language Packs around the internet or around the city.
I don't have any sources currently, but you could try some of the other threads in the forum. I'm sure there is already someone who has asked for this kind of information. There are also people on this forum who could teach you. Just be patient and friendly. XD Help my Cause for homeless teens!

I think you could say that. Hiragana is the alphabet. But it does not consist of letters like the alphabet in the western countries (A, B, C, D, E, F, ...).
It consists of syllables and vowels (a, i, u, e, o are the japanese vowels; pronunciation is not the english way but more the german or french way I would say). The only consonant which can stands alone is 'n'. Here is a link that shows the Hiragana: http://www.kirchner-inoue.de/hiragana.gif |
