Thank you. :)

I certainly hope I can find some people like that. We only have one, and he gets out a chapter per week. If I could get 8 more translators like him, than we could translate a novel per week in theory. But any more translators would be a huge help.

As someone who works with other translators on similar projects, the more chefs you have, the more problems you are going to run into. On one the project leader was pretty hands off, and I later found, after conferring with a translator who worked on another section of the same project, that we had translated different character names differently. I only hope the project manager caught it, but I don't think she did. Large groups of translators are no big deal for highly technical projects, but for novels, which are creative, not technical, I would stick with one and be patient. It usually takes me about 3 months to do a novel (give or take...depending on length) and if its in print 6 months after that, I feel lucky.

Well, were not trying to make PERFECT translations, these are after all fan-translations, so mistakes are probable.

You said you translate novels, does this mean you are being hired by Tokyo-pop and Seven Sea's to translate official light novels?

-Matt :)

They don't "hire" but "contract" (to be nit-picky), and I have not worked with worked with TokyoPop, mostly work with Dark Horse and will say it is too early to comment on Seven Seas.

EDIT: Oops...not Seven Seas, but I am "in talks" with another publisher...not to be mysterious, but I don't want to jinx it.
