I haven't been studying japanese as i been working alot. Im having problems translating the below message my friend sent me, can some one translate for me please.

ワタシワ　ゲンキデス。ワタシモ　マイニチ　イソガシ ク　ハタライテイマス。Nana 2, Death Note　ワ シッテイマス。ニホンノ　エイガ　ワ　オモシロイデス カ？
マサコガ　ニホンニ　カエッテキマシタ。ヒサシブリニ 　アイマシタ。トテモタノシカッタデス。
ニホンハ　ダイブ　アタタカクナリマシタ。モウ　ハル 　デス。ハルニワ　サクラガ　サキマス。サクラ　ワ　 トテモ　キレイデス。ワタシハ　１ネンブリノ　サクラ ヲ　トテモ　タノシニシテイマス。
ソシテ　モウスグ　ユミカ　ト　ジェイソン　ニ　アエ マス。トテモタノシミデス。３ニンデ　サクラヲ　ミニ イキマス。

I am well. I am also working busily everyday. I know Nana 2 and Death note. Are the movies in japan good?
Masako came back to Japan. I met her for the first time in a long time. It was very fun.
Has Japan become quite warm yet? It's already spring. Cherry blossoms grow in spring. They are very beautiful. I am looking forward to a year's worth of cherry blossoms.
I will also meet Yumika and Jason soon. I'm looking forward to it. The three of us will go and look at the cherry blossums.

Why is it all in katakana? Is your friend a robot?

Why have they written the entire thing in katakana?!

It says:

私は元気です。私も毎日急がして働いています。Nana2, Death Note を知っています。日本の映画は面白いですか。

I'm well. I'm also busy with work. I know of Nana2 and Death Note. Are Japanese movies good? (interesting/entertaining)

まさこが日本に帰って来ました。久しぶり会いました。 とても楽しかったです。

Masako has returned to Japan. We met up for the first time in ages. It was really fun.

日本はだいぶ暖かくなりました。もう春です。春には桜 が咲きます。桜はとてもきれいです。私は１年ぶりの桜 をとても楽しみにしています。

Japan is getting quite a bit warmer. It's already spring. In the spring cherry blossoms bloom. Cherry blossoms are very pretty. It's been a year so I'm looking forward to seeing cherry blossoms again.

そしてもうすぐユミカとジェイソンに会います。とても 楽しみです。３人で桜を見に行きます。

Also, I'm going to meet up with Yumika and Jason very soon. I can't wait! The three of us will go and look at the cherry blossoms.

Thanks for replys and response. I don't know why she did write it in Katakana. May be she is been annoying, she was my girlfriend in australia than she went back home to japan and i havent seen her in 9 months. I'm still learning japanese thats may be why he wrote it in Katakana.
