Buy a course book as I did, when I started, and do a little bit self-study. If you became more interested just enroll in some Japanese course. Then, you can find someone, even a Japanese person, that could help you with something.

I will be spending two weeks in Japan next fall, so I want to learn as much as I can till then. I am teaching myself, and in 1 weeks time, I have learned 60 different words and have been trying to use them as much as I can throughout the day. I have worked them into my daily routine, for example, when I use the phone, I refer to it as "denwa". I figure if I keep up at this pace, by next fall I should be in good shape for when I go to Japan. I will be going with 17 other students who are not planning on learning the language, so I will be the only one familiar with it. I would rather not have to completely depend on a translator, and since I love Japan in general, learning to speak Japanese is very enjoyable. Good luck with however you decide to learn it. There are a lot of different software programs and study books available now. You can even start by simply looking online at free websites that get you started.

This is about the 100th message with the same statement.
" I wanna learn Japanese! please help meeeeeeeee"

How about creating a f**king sticky for these mindless cretins, how about offering nihongo daycare centres for the kids while the folks learn japanese?

These shitty threads should be merged in a big ol' nasty pile directing them to the USUAL stickies so that people like me don't have to trawl through this shit every week.

Just a thought to those "moderating" the board.

Oh snap!

Can't say I don't agree with you, though.
