I have another problem with this phrase:
そして9つ9つの指輪は人間という種族誰よりも力を望 む種族に与えられた
I can't translate 人間という種族誰よりも
The phrase I think should sound like this: "and 9, 9 rings were given to the race who desires power"
But I can't translate the central part...

人間という種族=race called humans
誰よりも who also more than(the others mentioned) Is my best guess for the dare yori mo(probably wrong)

Yes, I also have translated it like that, but I cannot understand the construction. What is the syntax for "誰"? For example, how do you translate: "I know who ate that" ?
