金 is a hanja, a kanji used in korean, and is read 김 (Kim).
I actually know a couple of koreans who use this kanji when they're writing their name in Japanese, but if you are not of korean descent and your name isn't written in hanja, キム is the only choice.

Unless you`re Korean, and that is your family name. Then, yes, 金 would be used. I`ll be honest and say that I have hardly ever seen someone with the name Kim who is Korean have it written キム. In fact, my IME even changes きむ to 金.


If anyone is trying to find me… Tamyuun on Instagram is probably the easiest.
