The writing is on a sword blade (Katana) that was bought quite a few year ago in an "army supply" in Jakarta. I was on site at the time and this military surplus had all kind of equipments that are without any doubts original. I acquired a few of these swords on site and the seller can be trusted.

I knew a reputable antique dealer in Japan is a super famous town. Some of his treasures were featured in antique books. I saw him bullshitting a bunch of stuff and tried to convince me one of his items contained one of the Bhudda's teeth.
If it's in Jakarta then I think it's probably fake, like an indonesian trying to fake old kanji. If your in the states, take it to antique roadshow. |
