Casualness?
How can I sound casual when talking to friends and not sound like a robot? You know...like when we say yeah or mhm instead of yes.
|
There have been books written to answer this question. If you could be a little more specific.
|
That question can get a very long answer. Trying saying if you are a boy or girl and how you want to sound that might narrow it down.
|
As in slang. Something that's not in the dictionary. You know how in English we don't always say yes? We say yeah, mhm, fo shizzle, etc. And in Japanese, instead of saying Hai all the time, you say eee, aaa, and such. But I want to know how to make myself sound more native and friendly rather than talking like a dictionary. And yes, I know casualness is only for my close friends, not strangers or older people.
I'm a boy. |

Why worry about that? I help some people who want to learn my language and some people worried about things that make them look close to native. Why?
Why should I worry about a little slang word that makes me look closer to native speakers and then after that little slang a nice phrase like this follows: "yup...I to go home!". Is your Japanese pretty much without errors (I mean the big errors, not those small ones that everyone does in his/her own native language)? Are you fluent in the way you speak? If the answer to those questions is no, then don't worry about speaking like a text book...actually hope you can speak like one coz that would be a wonderful beginning. |
