Post Translation please. - 12-08-2008, 06:48 PM

Hi I was hoping someone could translate what it says on the back of a plate I recently bought. I tried to draw it out but it looks like a 3 year old did it. I'm guessing it is japanese. I hope the pictures aren't too blurry. Thank you!

I believe that is Chinese but i'm no expert. I'm sure i'm probably wrong.

I'd probably guess that's Chinese as well, due to the absence of kana, but many kanji share meanings across Japanese and Chinese, so someone might still be able to give you a general idea of the message, or you can try looking up the kanji in an online kanji dictionary.

It looks very much like a Japanese hanko, or name stamp. More than likely it is the seal of the artist, but I am not sure how to read it.

The two kanji on the right-hand side says "中國" vertically, meaning "China". The other two on the left are too blurry for me to read. My best guess would be a place name in China.
