Can anyone Translate this image for me ? ![]() |
By "this image", are you referring to the Japanese writing at the bottom?

Roughly translates to:
"Even though I can't read or write Japanese, things that are written in Japanese are cooler, so my younger brother translated [this] for me." Just as a side note, I believe 通訳(tsuuyaku) refers to oral interpretation only, and not written translations, so that choice of word might have been a mistake for whoever made this image. Maybe a native speaker can clarify whether I'm correct on that... |

You're right about the word choice of 通訳 as well. They should have used 翻訳 instead. |

I don't mean to jump into what will inevitably become some sort of argument, but all the kanji in that sentence are some of the lowest level jōyō kanji. As in like 1st and 2nd grade. If you know 700 kanji, you should more than certainly be able to read that sentence.

But lots of the other ones, especially in the second half of the sentence, I have never seen before. Don't know why. Haven't been studying Kanji lately. |

Have you taken the JLPT by any chance? You'll be approaching the halfway mark in jōyō after a couple hundred more... |
What should be a 3-post thread is now an argument, and who knows if the OP will ever show up again. Let's all take a deep breath and get off each other's backs.

I'm very thankful
It's my response: "Even though I can't read or write Japanese, things that are written in Japanese are cooler, so my younger brother translated [this] for me." I can't understand why he write that under his site's logo but in anyway thanks to all of you :ywave: You are very active |
which book are you using Alanx?
mine already handled most off those in that sentence... i just know around 200-250 kanjis thou kinda made me curious ;p |
i'm about to start my kanji review for the day....
i have 63 to review and 25 i added last night to see if i can retain. i'm using heisigs "remembering the kanji" deffinately worth the money you'll buy it for. it gets hard at times but be persistant and never give in! i learn about 15 - 20 kanji a day. and on weekends 25 - 30 if i have more time to devote to it! i only do kanji about an hour to 2 hours a day! =) but it doesn't teach you onyomi or kuyomi. but you will be able to recall all kanji from memory in your mother tongue. i know.. about 676 kanji as of right now. has taken me about 2 months (and that is really slow for heisgs method by the way) |L.p. |
ah i got that too both the blue and red edition, red has readings in it. I also have basic kanji book with 500 kanjis and genki 1, 2 with 300ish. they complement eachother pretty well but i find genki 1 and 2 pretty annoyinh when it comes to grammar...
