common kanji
A lot of people on this site want to prepare for going to japan and one of the biggest things is getting used to all that kanji...so to those who have been there can you (please) write here which kanji you commonly ran into and which ones made your trip ( or stay) a lot of a hell easier...thanks!
|
Oh, I'm interested in this too! I'm going to try to tackle kanji soon, and I want to start with the ones I will most likely encounter first (I'm going to Japan soon).
|
it's not exactly that easy. The ones you will encounter most will be all the joyo kanji (some used more then others, but still if you only know some it won't get you too far) which is a list of 1945 (did it increase yet?) kanji that are most commonly used in japan.

Yes, this seems like a reasonable enough request. (In fact, I was thinking about this myself)
I personally believe it's more important to learn and remember the basics of the language first, rather than memorizing some sequence of words with only a limited understanding of it's construction. |
Yeah, what is the "survival kit" of kanji? Lol

Ah ok well here are a few.. (I'm thinking them up as I go so if i think of some more Ill add em)
