Having trouble typing in japanese in vista
Hey guys.
For some reason, I can't type in japanese characters in my windows vista anymore. Whenever I type in hiragana, it comes out different than it should. For example: ka - would come out like: のち ohayo - らくちんら How can I fix this? (By the way, I'm using the microsoft IME language bar) |
It\s because every key on your keyboard is one hiragana... It\s like that for me as well, I don't know how to change it.
Take a look here: Japanese Hiragana Keyboard Layout (takes a bit to load) The only think I know of that you could do is somehow mark the keys so you know which one is which hiragana. Example of a solution: JAPANESE HIRAGANA TRANSPARENT KEYBOARD STICKER BLUE - eBay (item 260323857655 end time Mar-29-09 03:09:54 PDT) These are fairly inexpensive, but still... If anyone knows how to fix it so when you type letters from the latin alfabet they turn into hiragana, I'm sure that's better. |
I don't think I need to go that far... I think it has to do with the settings in my computer. It worked well before. I could simply type "k" and "a" and get the hiragana for "ka". I don't know what happened now but I can't do that anymore.

Yeah, I understand. But since I've never been able to do that, I don't know... I could try to search around a bit though.

2. Select Japanese > Keyboard > Microsoft IME and click on Properties 3. Under General Tab, Input Method, select Romaji Input instead of Kana input |

Wow! This worked for me as well! I could have figured out this earlier if not the properties for this had been in japanese on my computer o_o
Thanks ^^ |
where do you find the language toolbar?
