Learning Kanji using an SRS
I use Mnemosyne, and I'm learning Kanji using it. I've currently learned 94 Kanji in a few days, but I had one question. In Mnemosyne, it gives you a schedule to show you a certain number of cards and particular cards on certain days; however, it does have a "Learn ahead of schedule" option. Is it important to go by this schedule? Or is it better to "learn ahead of schedule"?

I am not familiar with this system, or with the font you are using, but "learning" 94 kanji in a few days is different than "becoming familiar" with 94 kanji. If long-term understanding is the goal, you need to give yourself more time.

Ok, sorry I have yet to "learn" all of these Kanji, but I have "become familiar" with them and can remember them. I still review most of these Kanji every day (I say most because sometimes the SRS doesn't show me certain Kanji) So I would say long term memory of these Kanji is well on it's way? But I was wondering if going by this schedule thing would help even further.
Sorry if I sound like a jerk, not trying to be or anything. |

I am sure some people can do it, and I am not saying you aren't one of them, but it is a tough course. I was talking about this very topic with a friend tonight and how although INFORMATION is instantaneous on the Internet, that doesn't mean KNOWLEDGE is. |
Best way to learn kanji IMO:
Turn off the PC! |

What I meant was "Use paper and pencil along with a good book."
