please help me compose japanese name - 07-14-2009, 05:03 PM

hi all

i'm writing a story which occurs in Japan, but right now i've got a problem with an actor name; a 20 yrs man who is sometimes cold and sometimes hot. I like name means "Sun" (I know marely Tai-yo so I like something different). Can you please help me think his name?

Youta? First kanji means sun, sunlight and second means big, thick (lol). But I'm not sure if it means thick like negative xD

I think 陽 can be read as はる and あきら. Not sure whether they are boys/girls names, but the former sounds more like a girl's name to me and teh latter like a boy's name.

はる = Haru , あきら= Akira

Youta is a good one and more common among guys in their teens and twenties. Of course the "ta" used in some men's names in Japan (Tarou, Kentarou, Yuuta etc as well) isn't negative- it has the idea of "strong and steadfast" in it.

Another name using the same "you" character would be Youki, with various possibilities for the "ki" kanji.
