Can't find origin of this word... -

The word is フォロ-。 I've seen this word a few times in manga, but by far most frequently in GachaGacha. I get the gist of what it means in context but what's the etymology of the word? I couldn't find it anywhere.
It basically means "look out for" or "take care of". This in in reference to a guy having to look out for this girl with multiple personalities and make sure she doesn't get out of line. I finished the entire manga, but this word still bothers me . Anyone know offhand or do I need to be more specific? |

I thought so too, but that only vaguely makes sense... Of course, that's certainly not the first time I've seen an English word molded into another meaning. I remember once being so confused about someone having a good "スタイル" means to have a good figure as opposed to the English meaning of style.
