I know, even though it's what got me into Japanese (playing my brother's version) it's still bad. Lot's of mistakes and unclear/broken explanations.

haha I'm in a Japanese class at college. In the 2nd year now and I gotta say you know more than what has been taught in the class!

Next steps for you is to listen to real Japanese (NOT ANIME), not the crap thats in that game and begin to copy the way females speak and learn new words that way.

Have you started learning kanji yet? I only played the first few levels of that game before I decided it was terrible.. I remember being presented with something like "か"　as a question and being able to choose between 4 possible answers:
KA
カ
DE
Inu

I chose KA as my answer and was told I was wrong so i took out the cartridge and threw it all the nearest wall, traded it in the next day.

I'm amazed you've gotten as far as you did by using that game alone. You've obviously got a hell of a lot more patience than I!

makeing fool of yourself is one part of learning a language. It even helps you to remeber someting wrong and *never* do it wrong again. As some people had already say, the most important thing is to have self confidence and even if you know that's wrong, try it. People will still understand you. You understand when someone who doesn't speak well you language tries it; the same applies to you.

I tell you from my own expirences, japanese is my third foreing language (actually I consider myself also a beginner). At the first time I came to Germany I was a bit nervous whether the people would understand me or not. I feared that I would not be able to expres myself and that people would'nt understand anything. After 5 years of extrem german lessons I've learned a lot of gramatics and vocabulary but I didn't have self confidence at all. It took me little time (about a week or two) when I realised that it didn't matter that I couldn't speak well. I just went outside and tried to speak with people, even realizing (at the very same moment) what I've made wrong.

After that I also realized that I wasn't nervous at all and people even were surprised how well I speak. Sometimes a meet people from my own country here in Germany, people that still have problems with it and the will never speak well.

So, don't be afraid of making a fool of yourself.

Yea the game takes way to much patience and it never explains anything enough, i always have to ask people over the internet for help on grammar. But yes i learned kanjii, but i used the internet for that too.
And i never learned japanese through anime, before i started learning it i reseached how to and the first thing they told me "NOT ANIME!" too lol x]

If your always having to ask about grammar over the internet I wonder what resources you are using other than that game.

He starts from the basics so going through the whole thing should give you a nice foundation.
