I just want to know what they are referring to, if the 'massacre' has a certain name, so that I may be able to search it in Korean.

保導連盟事件 (Bodo League Incident)

Japanese Wikipedia on it: 保導連盟事件 - Wikipedia
Korean Wikipedia on it: 보도연맹 사건 - 위키백과, 우리 모두의 백과사전
English Wikipedia on it: Bodo League massacre - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I believe it was one of the massacres approved by the US government during the Korean War. The South Korean government (as well as the military) was a puppet gov't of the USA at that time.

Roh Mu-Hyeon officially apologized to the South Korean public about this. It takes a courageous anti-American South Korean president to overcome this painful past.

EDIT: Yeah, Kyle got it.
