Assuming you mean in restaurants and bars, you can say:

1. お愛想(あいそ)お願いします。

2. お勘定(かんじょう)お願いします。

Out of curiosity do people use お会計 in this scenario much? I used to use レシートお願いします and that seemed to work fine, although that's technically asking for a receipt right?

お会計 seems like I word I have only heard the server use to the customer.

I usually use お愛想 or more often just cross my index fingers in an "X" sign.

Ah, ok. That's interesting; my dictionary completely fails to specify who should be using the word. 9__9;

Thanks for the clarification MMM

お会計 is alright though I personally don't use it. To me, it's way too direct. Not that you have to speak like us native speakers, many of us prefer using お愛想 because it's much more vague. It doesn't even sound like you're talking about payment. :)

レシートお願いします can be said only after you have handed or as you hand your money or credit card to the cashier.
