Please help with kanji<->english
 

Hi could anyone who knows japanese well tell me how to write "immortal" (man who does not die) i found two versions
1. 不死の
2. 不死

Which version is the correct one and what is the meaning of the last character in the first version.

Neither of those means an immortal person - 不死 means immortal (and is an adjective using の "no" before the noun it describes)

To say "immortal man" I guess you'd use 不死の男? (or 人 instead of 男 to mean "person" rather than "man".)

Uh, and it'd be nice if you stuck to one topic, there's no point asking the same question several times.

不死の人 is "immortal"
But if you're going to get it tattooed, I must warn you it's not nearly as mallgothy cool in Japanese as it is in English. ;)
Also in Japan you aren't allowed to go to public bath houses if you have tattoos because they are associated strongly with yakuza.

They will not let you into gyms either. Tattoos just have an all around bad stigma in Japanese culture. So I would not get a Kanji tattoo.. you look silly and seedy to Japanese people by having one. And an "immortal" tattoo will just look ridiculous once you are dead of course.

But yeah, tattoos in general are a bad idea if you plan on going to Japan - wasn't that already discussed here a little while ago?

If you are looking for a Japanese word for your tattoo, I recommend this word;
不死身（ふじみ）
This means like a body which never die.

I also recommend this:
最強（さいきょう）
I believe this is cool as a tattoo.
This means like “strongest”.

How about this?
最強の戦士（fiercest warrior）
I would love this. This is too cool.

Not that I'm saying you guys are wrong, but I just think that this is interesting.

If an action is likely to potentially make a lot of people in a certain country or culture look at you like a criminal, outcast and/or weakling, I'd think twice about whether I considered it worth it, and whether or not I intended on ever visiting said country or culture.

In either case, tattoos aren't really the thing to "jump into" anyway, are they? Hard to remove properly if you decide you don't want them after all.
