Polite ways to say "No junk mail" -
04-28-2010, 10:24 AM
I'd like to know of a polite way to say that I don't want people putting junk mail, free newspapers, etc. through the mail slot in my door. I get a ton of these.
Also, while I'm at it, I'd like to know a polite way to say, "Please don't put lean your bicycle on the A/C unit or put things on top of it". My A/C unit is near the bike rack of my apartment, and invariably bicycles get leaned against it, leaving rubber marks and scratches, or someone throws their bicycle cover on it. Thanks in advance for your help! |

I am one of the few, or rather the only one in my building with one of these signs posted to my post box. It works sort of, I still get the occasional advert but less than I got before. 蒼天(そうてん)翔(か)ける日輪(にちりん)の 青春の覇気 美(うるわ)しく 輝く我が名ぞ 阪神タイガース ※オウ オウ オウオウ 阪神タイガース フレ フレ フレフレ |

If the OP wants it to be as polite as possible, you can add “お願い” at the biginning of the sentence. お願い: エアコンに自転車を立て掛けたり、上に物を置かないで ください。 “お願い” means “ATTENTION !” on translation, but the nuance of it would be a sort of “I have a faver to ask ”. And this would sound a little bit softer than without it when toward the neighbors , I think. |
