Need To Learn Japanese!
 

I plan to move to japan one day and would like to learn japanese! Please anyone who can help measage me! Or go to my facebook or myspace. Well, the best thing to do would probably be to take a Japanese course, obviously.
Haha.

But, if you don't have a community college or class nearby that offers Japanese, then I actually really recommend this DS game called "My Japanese Coach".

I've been playing around with it for the past week and I already know most of the Hiragana characters by heart and have mastered over 50 words.
-And that's all within a couple of days!

Of course, I put in some effort and was trying like crazy to memorize the characters, haha.

It really is nice, because it offers a whole bunch of "mini-games" that help you memorize the different symbols and words.

That's one option though!

Get a dictionary and some flashcards. Get off the internet and spend three hours a day studying. In six months you will be able to converse in Japanese.

The main problem with my Japanese coach is not only it's out of context grammar lessons but it's waaaay wrong stroke order teaching. And I mean way wrong. It teaches 山 as a 4 stroke kanji. Also, as mentioned, the grammar lessons are flawed.

No one is just going to teach you Japanese though. If you want to self study but don't have much money you could always pick up one of the cheaper textbooks such as 'Japanese for busy people' or if you're more serious splash out a little more for Genki and it's CD set.

I don't want to break any dreams or anything but learning a language isn't easy and you're going to have to put a lot of hard work in if you want to learn one.

I had no idea that the stroke order was being
taught incorrectly.

You can tach yourself. Books aren't that expensive. How can you afford a teacher but no books?
