"... French??"

I lol'd. For the record, it was the only thing I caught in there, too. Damn, I thought Norwegian dialects were bad enough.

It's OK if you can't. I guarantee you they actually do switch into French a couple times. I understood everything in English, but that has to be French in the really crazy parts—I could only pick up a couple words thanks to my vague study of Miss Piggy when I watched the Muppets back in the day. But I heard things like "et toi" which means "and you," for example.

To be fair, I am from neighboring Texas, though.

With different dialects of Chinese and Japanese sounding so different. Why don't we have something like this in England? I mean sure we have loads of different accents, but I've never come across one I can't understand?

I just started to learn Tsugaru-ben and, I have to say, the first video on youtube I listened to reminded me of Korean! My friend from Aomori told me that story, that some people say it sounds like French, but, come on! That must be a joke! lol Even this commercial, there's not even a single bit that would make me think that sounds like French! But it does sound a lot like Korean, at least for someone who knows both French and Korean and nothing of Tsugaru-ben yet! XD
