#Tutorial "how to use しか"

こんにちは皆さん。
I made this tutorial on the word しか some time ago and I thought I'd share it with the forum here in hope someone will find it useful :)

YouTube - Japanese tutorial #3 - Getting around "Only" ?!?

Merry Christmas ^^

I think it is well done, with the exception that it is a subject dealt with in any grammar book.

What I have never seen on books on the other hand (only a native speaker told me once what it means) is an explanation of しかない placed after a verb like
それを買うしかないよ

If you really want to teach Japanese, the more natural word order is みなさん、こんにちは.

If I were you, I would present the phrase しか~~ない instead of just しか. At least that's how Japanese kids learn this expression.

I would have discussed how the following sentences would more naturally be expressed affirmatively in English but negatively in Japanese.

"I only know a little Japanese." vs. 「少ししか日本語を知らない。」

"Tom has only 2 dollars." vs. 「トムは2ドルしか持っていない。」
