In that particular line it acts a little like "desu", and is (as said before) just a polite copula, but gozaimasu is also a verb and is a polite version of "arimasu" or "aru"

御座る gozaru = to be (polite).
御座います gozaimasu = to be .. (even more polite)

they just sing it in english but with the broken phonetics, like:
haapi baasudee tsuu yuu haapi baasudee tsuu yuu... blah blah blah so on so on, while clapping (:
