Thank you letter in Japanese... ^^
 

My dad recently went to a sort of international conference, which he goes to every year, and at which he meets up with a Japanese man. Last year my dad was telling him about me being into Japanese stuff, so, this year, he brought presents for me and my sister, and also a magazine for me, to give to my dad at the conference. I would like to write him a thank you letter in Japanese, hopefully something like what follows:

青木さんへ
青木さんからの贈り物を父からもらいました。とても気 に入りました！
親切にしてくださり、ありがとうございます！大切に使 わせていただきます。
[私]　より

Would this be correct, grammar-wise and formality-wise?
So, this man is someone I have never met, and someone my dad has met only twice...

I think your Japanese sentence is excellent.
You may send it to him without any change.

「さん」 would be too casual; Use 「様（さま）」.

You cannot use 「もらいました」 because it is not your father who gave you the present. He just handed it to you. I would use 「受け取りました（うけとりました）」.

The whole last line is just marvy.

I'm getting better at honorifics and such, but I'm still not sure of the "boundary", if you will, between -さん and -様...

That you have never met this person and that he must be much older than you (an assumption, though) lead me to making the change. Also I liked the last line so much that I made the change to go better with it.

You won't hear that said by Japanese guys too often. :p

Anyway, we shouldn't be talking in English when your Japanese is so good. Did you stay in Tama before or something?
