たある vs てある conjugation

In peacemaker kurogane ep1 8:15 (Peacemaker Kurogane 1 - Watch Peacemaker Kurogane Episode 1 Online),

There is this sentence in the subtitles "You're so honest, it's written all over your face" => 「君は正直だなあ、顔に書いたありますよ。」

I was wondering why is it 書いたあります instead of 書いてあります ?

I think you are mis-hearing it. I can't verify because the video won't play for me.

I think you're mishearing it, or the てある is being elided into たる in the same way ている can be elided into てる. Like I said, I can't verify, though.

The only time I know when you can precede ある with the plain past form of a verb is when you're using ある to mean "some" instead of as an actual verb. See any number of examples here: “たある”の検索結果(98 件):英辞郎 on the WEB:スペースアルク

Even without watching the video, 「書いたある」 makes no sense. It is 「て」.

I couldn't play the video either...

When I speak fast, I think I may sound 'かいたありますよ' or even 'かいたりますよ'.

・・・Or maybe it's Kansai accent? We say '~たあります' instead of '~てあります' in Kansai area.

PS. But we never write that way.

PS2. I've just heard the video. It's NOT Kansai accent.

PS3. We often pronounce 'せんたっきsentakki' but write 'せんたくきsentakuki' (洗濯機) and never write 'せんたっき'.

I tried that and it still didn't load for me. The video just remained blank.

ppo 09-15-2011 01:55 PM

When I clicked on the play button, the video started for me. How about you?

masaegu 09-15-2011 03:05 PM

He clearly says 書いてあります and there are no subs.

pacerier 09-15-2011 07:38 PM

This is weird, I opened the video with VLC player, slowed it by 2x / 3x / 4x and it still sounds like 書いた instead of 書いて

I hear て, not た. But then again, who cares? You know 〜たあります is grammatically impossible, so your brain should immediately fill in with the correct sound. Your brain already does this with your native language. Just imagine every time you've talked on a cell phone with a bad connection.

Work hard and this will happen with Japanese, too. When I hear that audio, my brain understands instinctively they're talking about a てある construction even if I don't hear anything but かいtあります

I think it is just a typo.

ちゃんとスレ読んでから発言してる?

口頭で言っているのに「タイポ」はないでしょう。

A couple of native Japanese speakers here have already told you that it's 書いてある....if they can't convince you then nothing well.

It doesn't matter how it sounds...

if you say 書いてある really fast it will sound like カイたる

pacerier 09-20-2011 08:54 AM

I mean I was just thinking would 書いある be a "legal" short-form for 書いてある ?

(You mean「書いたる」, not 「書いある」here, right?)

As I've already said, I think we never write 「書いたる」....

If I read「書いたる」, I'll think it's saying「書いてやる」=「書いてあげる」(I'll write it for you) in Kansai dialect... At least I don't think it's standard Japanese....

And if I read「書いたある」(in manga, for example), I'll think it's saying 「書いてある」in Kansai dialect.

Ok thanks for the help =D
