ために vs. ための

Hi, I would like to know what is the difference between "ために" and "ための"?


1a. 犬くんのために美味しい食べ物を買ったんですよ。
1b. 犬くんのための美味しい食べ物を買ったんですよ。

2a. 知識を増やすために日本語と英語を勉強しているんです 。
2b. 知識を増やすための日本語と英語を勉強しているんです 。

「知識を増やすための」is an adjective phrase and describes the words 「日本語と英語」. It's like 'I'm learning these two languages which will expand my knowledge.'
（…でもこの日本語↑は、「の」だと少し不自然です、 The sentence (2b.) sounds a little awkward to me.「に」(like 2a) would be more natural.「知識を増やすための言語を勉強しています」woul d be fine, I think...）
