I can get the jist of this but there are some bits I just have no idea about:

焼けたフライパンのなかのポップコーンになって、僕た ちはすこしでも涼しいところを求め, 自転車でちいさな島のなかをはじけまわることになる。 まだ身体が暑さになれていないから、ダイのように太っ ていなくても誰だってバテバテだ。

The context is a description of a heatwave on 月島, an island of reclaimed land in the tokyo bay if that helps.
