Help with japanese
 
hi..umm..i was saying the following to my friend

anata wa tarea san...
so then he looked shocked,,,what does it mean?..whats does tarea mean>

i was suposed to tell him : anata wa terea san

which means you are shy..so that did the first word mean..because he got shocked when i said it..:eek:

Well, maybe your friend was stunned as he could not make out as to what you were trying to say, as in a "Huh?" expression.

Vaguely speaking, tare means 'gravy', as in a dish gravy. And also dare means 'who'. At a moment of vagueness, your friend could have thought, "Are you calling me Mr Gravy???" or "Why are you calling me a Mr Who???"

Or it could be something else....
