Hello...
A friend's mom brought back a souvenir from a recent trip to Japan. It was a bag that she could put together herself. The only problem now is that she can't read the instructions. ^^; I tried to translate it for her, but with my limited Japanese, I couldn't figure out some of it. I posted it on some web space I had, and I was hoping someone here could help me out. asobiBOX|遊びボックス : Shantang Handkerchief シャンタンチーフ The original doc can be found here: http://www.asobibox.com/shantungchief/shantungchief.pdf It's a little fuzzy. Thanks a lot! Arisa |

Hello again,
I'm pretty new to this forum, so please let me know if my post is weird or offensive or annoying or... yeah. I'm hoping someone can help me if I narrow down my questions a little. Question 1: In the document I was trying to translate (link in the original post), I saw the following: ひも通し Can someone let me know what this means? I think it means something like a "string through-hole", but I'm not sure. Question 2: In the following text, I can't tell what the word MACHI (マチ) means. マチを作る。 [Make a "MACHI".] 縫目をひらき三角のマチを作る。 [Open/widen the seam/stitch and make a triangular "MACHI".] マチを縫い裏返すと 6図 になる。 [Once you sew a "MACHI" and turn it inside out, it'll become figure 6.] Does anyone know what it means? Thanks again for any help. Or, you can just say hello... Nandemo OK desu. Yoroshiku onegaishimasu. Arisa ^_^ |

Excuse me for being late.
二枚裏ねて->二枚重ねて - piles up two pieces 矢印の所より 5 cm あけて - leave 5cm margin from arrow-marked section ひも通し - as mentioned above, strap trough-hole マチ - as mentioned above, gore/gusset I hope this helps you. |
